Tyler’s Travels: The Team goes back in time and the future at Ernest Tubb’s
The Tyler's Travels Team goes on the road to Nashville for a preview of the return of Ernest Tubb Record Shop
NASHVILLE SC (WOLO) – Opening in the 1940’s by the store’s namesake, the Ernest Tubb Record Shop has been the heartbeat of Nashville and Country music, offering more than records. The legendary store was also the home of the Midnight Jamboree, were the who’s who of the genre through the generations, would perform at the Grand Ol’ Opry, then cross the street, and jump on stage for some impromptu music, cold beer, and fellowship.
After over 70 years, the building was sold, and the record shop was closed in 2022. That is when a partner approached Jamie and Bryan Kenney with the idea of buying the building, and bringing the legendary venue back to life. The Tyler’s Travels Team went On the Road and caught up the brothers who shared their vision for the store. Through a ton of work, inspiration from the past, advice from Country music stars, other bar owners, and even historians, the Ernest Tubb Record Shop is once again the heartbeat of Twang Town, with several stages, a rooftop bar, and of course, a record store moving into the future.
The Ernest Tubb Record Stop is located at 417 Broadway in Nashville, and open to the public.
