FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office along with the Winnsboro Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting incident that happened over the weekend, say deputies.

The shooting happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the area of Columbia Road and 2nd Street in Winnsboro on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Deputies responded after a caller reported hearing gunfire and turned into a nearby business to distance herself from the area.

When deputies arrived to the area, investigators located multiple spent shell casings in the roadway, according to FCSO.

Investigators developed information identifying a white Honda matching the description given at the scene.

Deputies were able to identify the driver as Tyrese Robertson, who was already wanted on outstanding warrants.

The vehicle was located a short time later and Robertson was taken into custody without incident.

Tyrese Robertson was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.

This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as it progresses, says Fairfield Co. Sheriff’s Office.
