SLED investigating officer involved Batesburg-Leesville shooting

 

 

 

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. (WOLO)– Police in Batesburg-Leesville say an officer was involved in a shooting Wednesday, Dec. 10.

According to investigators, at 12 p.m. officers pulled a car over that was believed to have been involved in criminal activity at multiple businesses.

Police say two suspects were in the car.

During the stop, police say the suspect tried to drive away and hit one of the officers.

A second officer fired shots at the suspects.

Two suspects in the car were taken to the hospital.

The officer who was hit by the car was treated at the scene.

SLED continues to investigate the incident.
