Love It or Chuck It Taste Test: Kraft Pizza Mac and Cheese
The Manmade Gourmet Tyler Ryan tries the blending of three classics - mac, cheese, and pizza
COLUMBIA SC (WOLO) – Kraft, the OG of the mac & cheese game has been busy creating new twists on the classic. A few weeks ago, the Manmade Gourmet Tyler Ryan mixed a batch of Apple Pie (Yes, apple pie) Mac & Cheese, and the Morning Show gave it a whirl – Check it out HERE.
Among several other new flavors, pizza is also a new addition…Now, to be clear, adding pizza flavor isn’t “new” for Kraft, as they have had Flavor Boost packs for a few years, pizza among them, but putting it all-in-one is on the newer side.
My immediate observations were the relative red color and the scent of tomato…which makes sense…Following the classic recipe, including milk and butter, I set about making it in the Manmade Gourmet Kitchen, and the GMC Crew gave it the taste test.
The tomato smell carried over to the taste, as at least for me, seemed to dominate – not in an unpleasant way – and overall, it was quite tasty. I followed the box directions, which did not call for salt, however, I did find that a touch of it was just the right thing.
The Love It, Like It, or Chuck It ruling: Love it – I mean, it is Mac and Cheese!
If you are looking to try it yourself, the only place I could find it was at Walmart.com – BUT it couldn’t be shipped or home delivered. I had to order it online and do the curbside pickup, which wasn’t a big deal at all.
