The Manmade Gourmet’s Love It or Chuck It: Cheeseburger Bombs

Tyler and Vaughan shoot their shot at a viral recipe for Cheeseburger Bombs

LEXINGTON SC (WOLO) –

The Manmade Gourmet’s Love It or Chuck It…You know those “viral videos” that all the home kitchen chefs pump out?  They all look good, but are they?  We put it to the test…

This time, Tyler Ryan (The Manmade Gourmet) and Crysty tried their hand at what was billed a super simple cheeseburger bomb, sometimes referred to as a Big Mac Bite, but since McD’s isn’t providing the burger, we decided to go with the former.

As always, we try to stick to the original recipe as best as possible, at least to our taste, to give it a fair shake, but as always, a good Chef takes liberty!

Here’s what you need:

1/2 pound ground beef

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon

1/4 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons prepared mustard

2 tablespoons chopped dill pickle or pickle relish

1 tube (16.3 ounces) large refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 large egg, beaten

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

Here’s what you do:

Preheat oven to 350°

In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender

Break up beef into crumbles; drain

Stir in bacon, ketchup, mustard and pickles; cool slightly

On a lightly floured surface, roll each biscuit into a 5-in. Circle

Add 1 tablespoon cheese in the center of each biscuit; top with2 tablespoons meat mixture

Bring biscuit dough over filling to center; pinch to seal, and place seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Brush tops with beaten egg; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown, 18-20 minutes.

Serve warm.

These things were super easy, and really yummy!

On the Love It or Chuck It scale, T and V both went THUMBS UP!
