Bill to increase minimum penalties for sexual exploitation of minor headed to governor’s desk

COLUMIBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A bill increasing the minimum penalties for sexual exploitation of a minor is headed to the governor’s desk to become law.

The House passed the measure which increases the minimum penalty to five years for first degree and three years for second degree.

The penalty for third degree sexual exploitation of a minor will vary based on the amount of material the suspect possesses.
