124 athletes on their way to Minnesota to represent SC in the Special Olympics

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)–124 athletes are on their way to Minnesota from the capital city to represent South Carolina in the Special Olympics USA games.

ABC Columbia was there Friday morning, June 19, for a send-off from Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

Officials say the athletes will participate in 13 sports including track and field, basketball, and bowling and more.

The team will return to Columbia on June 27.
