RCSD investigating second aggravated assault at Alvin S. Glenn

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– RCSD is investigating a second aggravated assault at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center this week, say deputies.

On Tuesday, November 3, around 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for an aggravated assault.

Deputies learned at the scene that there was a verbal altercation between inmates that turned physical, says RCSD.

After the physical altercation occurred, one of the inmates retrieved a shank, and attempted to stab the other with it.

The inmates were separated and the weapon was confiscated by RCSD.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
