Lexington County man first conviction under South Carolina’s Fentanyl-induced Homicide Act

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington County man is now the first person to be convicted under South Carolina’s Fentanyl-induced Homicide Act.

On Thursday, 46-year-old Bradford Wayne Jovanelly pleaded guilty to fentanyl-induced homicide.

Investigators with the Lexington Police Department say a victim died of an accidental overdose.

Phone records showed that Jovanelly was her drug dealer.

He received the maximum sentence of 30 years.
