New coroner’s office opens in Lexington County

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Staff with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are celebrating the opening of their new facility on South Lake Drive.

Local council members joined Coroner Margaret Fisher for the ribbon cutting.

Officials say the project transformed over 10,000 square feet of an existing commercial building into a state-of-the-art public safety center.

They also say the new office will be tailored to the unique demands of modern death investigation.

The new facility also houses family meeting spaces and a dedicated children’s room to help grieving loved ones during their time of need.
