Local Living: Greek Festival, Jubilee Festival, Okra Strut, SC State Fair

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the 39th annual Greek Festival is officially underway.

It’s from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, Thursday, September 17, through Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Sumter Street.

You can enjoy authentic Greek food, music, and more.

It’s free to attend.

You can learn about Black history at the 48th annual Jubilee Festival of Black History and Culture.

Historic Columbia is hosting the event at the Mann-simons site from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, September 19.

The celebration features live music, food trucks, art demonstrations, and more.

Admission is free.

The Town of Irmo is hosting their 51st annual Okra Strut next week.

Opening ceremonies will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday night, September 25.

Then the fun continues through Saturday, September 26 at 9 a.m. in the morning with a parade followed by family-friendly activities.

It all takes place at Moore Park and is free to attend.

Each fun pack includes four admission passes and two ride vouchers.

Winners will be selected October 5th.

The South Carolina State Fair takes place between October 15th and October 25th.
