Number of crews work to put out Two Alarm Fire at Irmo strip mall

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– No one is hurt after a strip mall fire in Irmo Monday night near Bush River and St. Andrews Road.

According to Irmo Fire, they responded to a two alarm commercial structure fire Monday night, involving a strip mall in the 3600 block of Bush River Road.

The fire was put out with help from Columbia Fire, Lexington County Fire, West Columbia Fire and Cayce Fire.

Fire officials say the large number of firefighters that responded saved the bulk of the strip mall, preventing the fire from spreading and limiting damage to a few occupancies on one end.

There were no injuries, and the cause is under investigation, say officials.
