Columbia Woman Stabs, Kills Man

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ A Columbia woman has been arrested and charged with stabbing a man in her home in a domestic dispute. Richland County deputies say 25-year-old Ashley Vereen stabbed the man multiple times at 1:45 a.m. Saturday. Deputies say the man tried to leave the house in his truck but only made it about 100 yards before he died. Vereen was arrested and charged with murder. Authorities said she was in the Richland County jail Saturday, and it wasn’t known if she had an attorney. The man has not been identified, but authorities say they had been called to the home several times before for domestic disputes in which the woman attacked the man. Authorities say a two-year-old child home at the time of the stabbing is staying with other relatives.
