COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— Walgreens is launching a free, same day delivery of HIV medications with Uber and DoorDash.

The partnership aims to increase access to medically underserved and underrepresented areas.

In Columbia, 146 new cases of HIV were recorded in 2020, according to a press release.

Interested patients must have a prescription for antiretroviral (ARV) medications or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) from a healthcare provider.

Individuals can go online to select Same Day Rx Delivery (after the prescription has been filled and before it gets picked up) by visiting Walgreens.com/PrescriptionDelivery, the Walgreens app or by calling their store.
