Colder Winter Will Increase Heating Costs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN) – Colder winter weather is expected to cost you more in heating bills this year. That’s according to a new government report from the Energy Information Administration. The agency estimates costs for homes using heating oil will hit a record high with a 20% increase from last year. Homes heated with natural gas are expected to see bills that are 15% higher. The report says the increase is mostly due to forecasts predicting a colder winter for states east of the Rockies.
