Ireland’s consul general speaks on bank crisis

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Ireland’s first consul general in the United States is set to speak on the current European banking and credit crisis.

The University of South Carolina says Paul Gleeson is scheduled to speak Friday in Gambrell Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Gleeson is Ireland’s first consul general. He established Ireland’s first consulate since the 1930s.

His appearance is sponsored by the Walker Institute of International and Area Studies and the Darla Moore School of Business.
