Coroner: Sumter woman dead after early morning three-vehicle collision in Kershaw County
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — One person was pronounced dead after a collision on a highway in Kershaw County on Tuesday morning said highway patrol.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened on U.S. Highway 521, three miles south of Camden around 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
SCHP says a Dodge Ram traveling north on US-521 and a Nissan SUV traveling south sideswiped each other, then the Dodge Ram hit a 2015 Dodge SUV head-on.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to the hospital and the two people in the Nissan SUV were not taken to a hospital for injuries.
The driver of the Dodge SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified by Kershaw County Coroner David West as 63-year-old Vivian Ann Quick.
Coroner West says Quick was on her way home after work when the collision happened.
The collision is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
