South Carolina’s official state Christmas tree now shining bright at the State House

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — South Carolina’s official Christmas tree is now shining bright.

It was officially lit this weekend at the 57th Annual Governor’s Carolighting Ceremony Sunday at the State House.

The 35-foot-tall Norway Spruce is from Henderson Tree Farms in Morganton, North Carolina. It has nearly 13,000 lights and 900 ornaments, according to the Columbia Garden Club.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster says he and Peggy look forward to the Carolighting each year as a way to join together with South Carolinians from across the state to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.
