Where Candidates Stand Before Presidential Primaries

Watch-Vote-2016-Civil-DebateTrump-Endorsement  YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP)– Today voters head to the polls in five states for their presidential primaries. And Republicans Marco Rubio and John Kasich are fighting for their political futures. They’re desperate for wins in their home states of Florida and Ohio. Rubio, the Florida senator, tried to stay upbeat Monday, even though he appears to have slipped in recent public polls in the state. Kasich, the Ohio governor, appears to have the best chance of defeating front-runner Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been itching to look ahead to the general election but continues to face persistent competition from Bernie Sanders. Clinton maintains a commanding lead in the delegate count, but Sanders breathed new life into his campaign with a surprising victory last week in Michigan. Today they fight for delegates in Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina.
