Club owner charged in early morning shooting in Sumter County
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) -The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning at Roy’s Club in Sumter County.
Deputies said it happened around 2:50 a.m. at the club on St. Paul Church Road.
The 26-year-old victim had already been transported to the hospital when deputies arrived. Witnesses said he was shot by club owner, Leroy Robinson, 67.
Robinson admitted to shooting the victim after an argument. He’s been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Authorities said no additional charges would be filed Sunday, but more could be coming.
