Gas Prices Spike as Holiday Nears

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–Gas prices are spiking just as the Christmas holiday nears. Some prices jumped from under two Dollars a gallon Thursday to nearly $3.15 a gallon by Sunday. Typically prices spike near the holidays say consumer experts, but the Midlands has been enjoying some of the lowest prices in the nation. Right now South Carolina drivers are paying an average $3.10 a gallon for regular gas. The prediction is gas will drop after the New Year.
