COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A man wanted for murder in Columbia was recently arrested in North Dakota, said the Columbia Police Department.
Investigators say around midnight on August 11, 2021, 31-year-old Sherrod Cantoine Joyner argued with a female acquaintance at the Heights Apartments.
He was told to leave and refused so the woman asked for help.
A male friend went to the location and that is when Joyner allegedly assaulted the woman and shot the male friend, say detectives.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Joyner was arrested by the Minot Police Department in North Dakota and U.S. Marshals.
Officials say once he is extradited to Columbia, he will be charged with domestic violence and murder.
