SLED charges former Sumter officer with misconduct in office
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged a former Sumter Police officer on Tuesday, says SLED.
Darren Lee McCain, 30, is accused of contacting multiple women and soliciting sex in exchange for money while working as a police officer for the Sumter Police Department.
Law enforcement say the case is based on McCain’s admission and evidence found in his phone.
He was charged with misconduct in office on Tuesday, June 25, and booked into the Sumter County Detention Center.
