Seventeen Unemployment Offices Restored

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — State lawmakers have voted to restore seventeen unemployment offices in rural South Carolina Counties after those cities were dismantled last month. The move comes amid a bipartisan budget amendment. That amendment directs the state’s unemployment agency to spend up to $1.5 million dollars for staff programs to help the jobless file unemployment benefits and get back to work.
