Florida man: ” I am not going to jail … I’m swimming home”

Florida — In tonight’s What in the World file. Bodycam video captures the moment a Florida man jumped in the ocean. Why? To avoid getting arrested.

This video from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission shows AJ.’s girlfriend repeatedly trying to get him to ‘calm down’, with his attitude leading the officers to try to arrest him for an outstanding warrant. He said he’d rather not go to jail on a sunday because he’d have to spend the night.

His girlfriend then pulled out his phone and repeatedly asked him to unlock it, telling him she can’t help him unless he unlocks it. So what does he do? He grabbed his phone… then feet on the edge, bend at the knees, back stiff as a board and spring! He jumped right in the water where he proceeded to try and “swim home,” because he’s not going to jail today.

That didn’t work. Cops jumped in, brought him onto their boat, handcuffed him, and passed him off to police waiting on the shore. Oh, and the girlfriend said she’s leaving. She’s sooooo done after this.
