SCHP: 1 person dead following Saturday collision in Lexington County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person is dead following a collision in Lexington County on Saturday.

The collision happened around 6:20 a.m. on Aug. 25, on I-77 south near mile marker 1.

According to troopers, a Volkswagen Sedan was stopped on I-77 when a Ford SUV hit the vehicle.

The Volkswagen driver died from their injuries while the Ford driver was taken to a hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
