AG Wilson files brief opposed to Ohio law

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says he filed a brief in protection of American’s first Amendment rights.

The brief filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the sixth circuit is about an Ohio school district that requires students to use preferred pronouns.

Wilson says the law has nothing to do with transgenderism but rather than telling Americans what they can and can’t say.

A spokesperson for the Ohio school district involved says in part, “when students and families feel empowered in their identity, it positively impacts school campuses and the community as a whole”.
