Suspect Wanted Following Standoff

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The search is on for a suspect deputies thought they had cornered.

Lexington County officials say they now believe the suspect left the home before they arrived.

Deputies responded to the domestic dispute Monday on Manor Drive in Gaston around 2:00 p.m.

The Lexington County Sheriffs Department spent hours swarming the home trying to convince the man they say was involved in a domestic dispute to come outside.

“We did everything from a tactical and methodical stand point to ensure the safety of the neighbors, the subject and then also to ensure the safety of our officers,” Captain Adam Myrick said.

But what they didn’t expect was to find no one inside the home.

“We believe the suspect got away before we were able to get here and secure the scene,” Myrick said. “Sometime immediately after the original incident and our response earlier here this after noon.”

What officers thought was Terry Jordon Jr turned out to be a dog that jumped out a window after a flash bang was used.

“There were several occasion where we were close enough to hear something inside, we thought it was the individual,” Myrick said. “It wasn’t something that was just minor, this was a situation where this domestic dispute was very serious and that’s what brought us here today.”
