Bachmann: Voters worried about jobs, not gaffes
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says voters are more concerned about the economy than an occasional gaffe by a candidate.
During an appearance this week, Bachmann said it was Elvis Presley’s birthday when it was the anniversary of his death.
Appearing in Mount Pleasant late Friday, the Minnesota congresswoman said there will be slip ups when a candidate is on the campaign trail and speaking six times a day.
Bachmann told reporters that people in South Carolina and the nation are more concerned about jobs. She earlier told a crowd of about 200 people at the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown that while all the GOP candidates are good people, she has shown she can stand up and stop the business-as-usual way of doing things in Washington.
