FTC: No more surprise fees
(CNN)– You can soon say goodbye to those hidden junk fees when you buy concert tickets or book your next stay at a hotel.
On Tuesday, December 17, the Federal Trade Commission announced its final rule requiring ticket and lodging companies to display the full price including all fees, up front.
The agency says the bipartisan rule will prohibit what it calls “bait-and-switch pricing”.
The new rule is set to go into effect in four months.
