Sheriff: White supremacists’ kill claims ‘bluster’

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A sheriff says claims made by a white supremacist couple that they were involved with several different killings and other crimes across South Carolina have not panned out.

Jeremy and Christine Moody are each charged with killing a registered sex offender and his wife in their Jonesville home last month.

On their Facebook pages, the Moodys both say they are members of a white power sect called Crew 41. The organization was new to law enforcement and the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate groups across the country.

The couple appears to be the only Crew 41 members in South Carolina.

Union County Sheriff David Taylor says their claims are “a bunch of bluster.”
