Five Points Curfew Passes Unanimously

The two hour long meeting brought city officials, citzens, business owners, and even teenagers together to discuss the possibility of making that temporary curfew permanent. Some argued that putting a ban on teenagers 17 and under in five points between 11 at night and 6 in the morning, would only push the problems to neighboring areas. Others believed the city needed to implement a citywide curfew. Vicki Strange, whose son Carter was beaten within inches of his life back in May while rushing home through five points says she too feels the curfew should be citywide. Strange gave a heartfelt plea to city officials saying if her fight can keep another family from going through what hers has, then it’s worth the fight. The five points curfew goes into effect immediately. City officials are now looking at how they can implement a similar curfew through the entire city.
