Fairfield Co. coroner identifies person dead after Sunday collision

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill has released the name of the person who died after a motor vehicle collision on Sunday, said the coroner’s office.

On, February 2, 17-year-old Deymius Mack was traveling north on US Hwy 21 in the Mitford area when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway, hit numerous trees and traveled down an embankment.

The Great Falls resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.

The Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol will continue to investigate the collision.
