SC Governor on scene of wildfires in Table Rock with updates from Forestry officials

Table Rock Wildfires in SC

PICKENS, SC (WOLO)–South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster held a briefing Friday from Table Rock Park on the wildfires in Pickens and Greenville counties.

According to McMaster, the state has never had a fire like this and it is not contained. But the governor did say the state is fortunate that no structures have been lost.
During the briefing, McMaster reminded everyone that the burning ban is in effect for the entire state.
The South Carolina Forestry Commission says the Table Rock fire in Pickens increased to over 8,000 acres and the Persimmon Ridge Fire in Greenville grew to nearly 2,000 acres.
No injuries have been reported.
