Firefighters put out dump truck fire on I-77
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia-Richland Fire Department firefighters controlled a dump truck fire on the highway on Tuesday morning, said firefighters.
CRFD said on Tuesday morning, April 29, during the morning rush the bed of a dump truck was on fire while on I-77.
Firefighters arrived to the scene and saw a large column of black smoke coming from the truck.
Fire officials said the fire started with the rear wheels and brakes of the vehicle.
Engine 8 took out the fire quickly while Engine 33 assisted with supplying water.
No one was injured.
Fort Jackson Fire Department also responded to the highway fire and provided help blocking the scene from traffic.
