Kingstree man charged, accused of looking up woman’s dress at a Broad Street business

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– A Kingstree man has been charged after investigators say was seen looking up a woman’s dress while at a Broad Street business earlier this month.
Sumter PD say 58-year-old Joshua Scott was placed in custody on Friday and charged with voyeurism.
He was booked at the county detention center, and police say Scott is a registered sex offender.
According to the police dept., officers responded after 5:30 p.m. on April 3 to a Broad Street business where a man was seen following around female customers before getting on the floor and looking up the dress of one woman.
Officers say Scott then ran out of the store once he was addressed by employees.
Video surveillance obtained during the investigation helped to identify and locate him.
