United Nations: Finances driving factor of “fertility crisis”

(CNN)– The United Nations says millions of people worldwide can’t have the number of children they want.

The UN calls it a “fertility crisis” and says some of the biggest drivers for it are job insecurity and unaffordable housing.

Together with market research firm You-gov, the UN did a survey across 14 countries to find out if people are able to have the families they want.

They found nearly a fifth of adults of reproductive age don’t believe they will be able to have as many children as they would like.

Nearly 40% reported “financial limitations” were a factor.
