COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — According to a post on social media, former Governor Nikki Haley says her mom, Raj Kaur Randhawa, passed away on the 4th of July.
In her post, Haley says, “Yesterday, we lost the strongest, most courageous, unafraid woman I have ever known. She was feisty and fun, smart and witty, and deeply faithful and generous. I’m convinced she left us on 4th of July because she wanted to go out with a bang but the beauty of it all is that she loved this country and all it gave to her, my dad, and our family for over 50 years. She loved her family more than anything. My strength and determination came from her. I will forever be proud to say I am my mother’s daughter. I pray she is now holding hands with my dad once again. I already miss you so much. May you forever shine in God’s grace.”
Haley’s mom joined her at the voting booth to vote for Haley during the 2024 primary elections. Haley’s father, Ajit Singh Randhawa, passed away on June 16, 2024.
Haley was the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 to December 2018 and was the the governor of SC from 2011 to 2017.
