PAGELAND, SC (WOLO) — According to the Pageland Police Department, 17-year-old Sean Davis was shot and killed Friday night at the Watermelon Festival in Pageland.
Davis was a member of Central High School’s track and football teams. Authorities say he was shot and killed just after ten o’clock that night.
According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), 17-year-old Jayden Jeremiah Jefferies has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a deadly crime, and an additional penalty for a concealable weapon, since he was not eligible at 17 for a Concealed Weapons Permit.
Jefferies was booked into the Chesterfield County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
According to a social media post by Davis’s football coach, Jonathan Eason, Davis’s “smile and personality lit up rooms.”
