Innovative Composites plans 300-job plant in SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Toronto-based materials company plans to spend $9.3 million on a new facility in Orangeburg that will create 300 new jobs.

Innovative Composites International will put the operation in an existing building and operate as EcoScapes Composites LLC.

EcoScapes will make composite houses. The 880 square-foot units can be put together in a couple of days and used in disaster relief as well as by the military.

The company plans to begin operating and hiring early next year.
