Prisma held ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Behavioral Health Emergency Care Unit

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– There is a new resource for emergency behavioral health care in the Midlands.

Monday morning, Dec. 15, officials with Prisma held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Behavioral Health Emergency Care Unit.

Officials say the specialized unit will provide rapid stabilization and treatment for patients experiencing behavioral health or substance use emergencies.

The treatment center will begin serving patients on January 5.
