TikTok signs deal to sell to U.S. group

(CNN)– TikTok has signed a deal to sell its U.S. assets to a group of American investors.

That’s what the CEO of the popular platform told employees in a memo yesterday.

The agreement would appear to wrap-up a long process that began with President Donald Trump in his first term.

In recent months, finalizing a deal has been a key component in broader negotiations between the United States and China.

Details of the new deal have not yet been released.
