Richland Co. deputies arrest person in connection with Wednesday shooting

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies arrested a suspect in relation to a shooting Wednesday (September 24).

Deputies say around 10:45 in the morning, they responded to the 1000 block of Beatty Road for reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

That victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies then identified the suspect as 40-year-old Alexander Wight.

Wight was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
