Heating costs expected to jump 11%
(CNN)– Americans across the country are seeing their home heating bills skyrocket.
The National Energy Assistance Directors Association says home heating costs are expected to jump 11% this Winter season which runs November to March.
That’s an increase from the original 9.2% projected.
The higher bills can be attributed to rising prices for natural gas, electricity, and heating oil along with sustained frigid temperatures.
The vast majority of Americans heat their homes with electricity and natural gas.
Industry analysts say those prices will likely keep rising for the next few years.
