BREAKING: SC State official confirms two dead and one wounded from shots fired on campus Thursday night
University is in lockdown
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – According to a social media post by SC State University, SLED is investigating a shooting on campus that left two people dead and one wounded. The school remains on lockdown.
The university reports that it issued a campus lockdown at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday following a shooting report in an apartment at the Hugine Suites student residential complex.
SLED investigators are on site and actively investigating.
ABC Columbia reached out to SLED, the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety and the SC State University Department of Public Safety for more information and will provide updates on this developing story as soon as they are available.
Friday classes have been cancelled and school officials say counselors are available to students.
