South Carolina gas prices rise 5.6 cents as U.S.-Iran attacks add uncertainty
(WCIV) — Gas prices both in South Carolina, and nationally have climbed once again, however according to GasBuddy, markets have still not yet shown how gas prices will react to the weekend’s U.S.–Iran attacks.
The average price of gas in South Carolina rose 5.6 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging at $2.63 per gallon as of Monday, according to GasBuddy‘s survey of 3,028 stations in South Carolina.
Data shows that prices in the state are currently 8.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago but are 4.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. GasBuddy price reports also state that the cheapest station in South Carolina was priced at $2.31 per gallon Sunday while the most expensive was $3.59, for a total difference of $1.28 per gallon.
Meanwhile the national average price of gas has climbed for the fourth straight week according to GasBuddy, with the average price at the pump now $2.94 per gallon Monday. Looking ahead this is a trend GasBuddy predicts will continue amid the U.S.–Iran attacks.
The recorded national average is up 7.8 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands 10.1 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.
