SCHP: 1 killed in fatal early Tuesday morning accident

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– SC troopers with the highway patrol say one person was killed in a fatal accident early Tuesday morning.

Officials say around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 14, the driver ran off of the side of  Highway 378 in Sumter County near the intersection with Pinecrest Drive.

Troopers say the driver was in a 2005 Honda Civic when they ran off the side of the road and hit a tree and a ditch.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
