Rep. Clyburn comments on SC State University Commencement

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Congressman Jim Clyburn is breaking his silence on the controversy surrounding the upcoming commencement ceremony at his alma-mater.

Last week South Carolina State University removed Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette as the keynote speaker after protests from students.

Congressman Clyburn released a statement saying he was proud of the students who marched to make their voices heard.

He also said he was disappointed when Evette referred to the students as a ‘woke mob’.
