Two injured following vehicle fire at Spinx gas station

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a vehicle fire at the Spinx gas station — located at the intersection of Lee Road and Hardscrabble Road in Northeast Columbia.

Deputies say they were dispatched to the Spinx gas station, located at 101 Lee Road, around 2 p.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, they found two vehicles and a gas pump engulfed in flames.

Two people were transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The public is asked to avoid the area as the investigation surrounding the circumstances leading to the fire continues.
