CFD battles house fire on Kelly Mill Road

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Richland Fire Department released images of a large house fire on Kelly Mill Road Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters say much of the home was engulfed when Engine 33 arrived shortly before 5 p.m. No occupants were inside the home. One resident on scene was taken to the hospital by Richland County EMS but later released.

Crews fought the fire from outside the home due to the extent of the fires involvement, with multiple units staged and supplying water from the roadway.

The fire was extinguished and its cause is under investigation.
